Reflective learning and how I learn.

Reflective learning aids the development of critical thinking, self awareness and analytical skills within an individual. It can be seen as helpfull for students as it assists them in understanding how theories can be applied in practices or where practice is consistent with concepts and theories. It can be used to assist individuals when trying to establish what works or what doesn't work, what may need to be done diffrently or how individuals may need to develop their behaviour and practice. Reflective learning may be captured and assessed through work in various forms. For example, a reflective portfolio, blog, essay, journal or diary. These provide a structure to capture thoughts and recollections, resulting with a permanent record that can then be reviewed to gain further insight or record new learning, providing evidence of personal development.

I have compiled a mind map displaying how I believe the reflective process works in reguards to myself.

Fantastic fans or false fans??

Football is a sport which I am personally passionate about. I love the atmosphere as the stadium fills up with the teams devoted fans and the poetic sound of football songs being carried through the stands. I sing along to the chants and songs as its part of the friendly banta however it’s a shame that some people’s only match day motivation, is to cause trouble and fight with the opposition. This minority of false and usually violent fans, attend the games for the wrong reasons not to actually watch the “beautiful game”, but simply attend to cause trouble by fighting, hurling abuse at the players or opposition fans and behaving like genuine hooligans. This really is a shame, as this behaviour causes the stigma usually associated with football as being the sport played by gentleman and observed by thugs.
