Disadvantages of technology in education

The main disadvantage of technology within in schools is cost. A lot of schools have technology these days but most schools cannot afford to keep up with the fast pace in which technology is developing. Therefore, in order for technology to be provided for students within some schools, budgets in other departments such as school trips would be cut in order to maintain the technology and to also develop the amount of technology available.

 Also by using technology constantly with their work, children will become dependent on it, and also will become lazy within their studies. Machine therefore is replacing man hours. Technology isn’t for everyone.

Some teachers are not liking the idea of having to go on further courses in order to learn how to use this equipment and also not all students like to use the equipment either and would rather stick to a pen and paper method.

One of the most important disadvantages I believe is making sure children are monitored whilst using technology as the internet is a dangerous weapon and it should always be used in the correct way, the context in which it is used and the material being researched or used is appropriate for the learners who are using it.
